Collegiate Performance

While pursuing my Music Business degree at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, I had the pleasure of performing for multiple instrumental and vocal groups at the university that covered a wide range of musical styles and disciplines.

Listed below are a few of these groups/productions, my participating role, and a brief description of each. A complete and detailed list can be found in my Music Business Degree Portfolio.

The Choraleers – Vocal Bass | The UNK Choraleers is a large vocal ensemble comprised of singers from all departments within UNK, and each being accepted to the group by a competitive audition. I was a member of the group the entirety of my collegiate career. During this time the Choraleers have given many notable performances including performances groups such as the Lincoln Symphony and traveling to locations such as Argentina and Uruguay for international performances.

The Nebraskats – Vocal Bass | The University Nebraskats is a show choir comprised of University students, and selected through competitive audition. I was a performing member of the group for three years while pursuing my undergraduate degree. During that time the group toured to various High Schools and Musical Venues in the Midwest, as well as giving a home concert each semester for the University.

The University Small Choral Ensemble “Collegium” – Vocal Bass | The University group Collegium is a small vocal ensemble comprised of students from various majors, each being selected through competitive audition. I was a member of the group for a total of 4 semesters. The ensemble itself has traveled with the Choraleers on many performances, and has also given many notable performances on its own around the state.

The University  “Opera Workshop” – Vocal Bass | The University Opera Workshop is an opera performance group formed and directed each year by University faculty and students. I was a part of three productions with the Opera Workshop including: – Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell – 2006 – Sid the Serpent who Wanted to Sing by Malcolm Fox – 2007 – Amahl and the Night Visitors by Gian Carlo Menotti – 2008

University Theatre Productions – Drums | University Theatre Productions are musical and theatrical productions put on by the Theatre department at UNK. I performed as an on-stage drummer for the musical production called Dear Edwina by Zina Goldrich and Marcy Heisler in the Fall of 2009.

The University Instrumental Group “The New Music Ensemble” – Various | The New Music Ensemble is an instrumental group performing various new works of contemporary composers, including some works composed by University faculty and students, I was a member of The New Music Ensemble during the Fall of 2008, performing on various instruments such as the cello, piano, and various percussion instruments.

Private Vocal Study Performances – Vocal Bass | While pursing my undergraduate music degree at UNK, I studied under Dr. Andrew White with voice as my primary degree instrument. During that time I gave many solo performances on Choraleers concerts, Student Recitals, and Nebraskats Performances, as well as performing the national anthem for the university’s spring commencement with over 5 thousand people in attendance (Image shown below). I have also performed for the “National Association of Teachers of Singing” state and regional competitions, as well as many other private solo performances for weddings and various university groups,
