The New World Singers – I Want You Back

In the Fall of 2015, Director of Choirs for Columbus High School Jacob Ritter approached me to help his singers produce the audio and video for an original arrangement of the Jackson 5 song “I Want You Back” for entry in the Macy’s All School Acappella Challenge. 

To tackle this unique project, I decided to travel to Columbus High School, in order to record the audio from over 20 students with hectic high school schedules. After producing the audio track for the group the kids took the reins to capture the video using their iPhones while lip syncing to their pre-recorded track. They then gave me their raw footage, which I edited using Adobe Premiere. The final result turned out great! Give it a watch or listen below!
